Overview
Support delivered as part of a UK Government-backed engagement to strengthen preparedness, coordination, and resilience capability associated with the Riyadh Metro system – Ministry of Interior Support Programme (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
The challenge
The Riyadh Metro represented a major national infrastructure programme operating within a complex and high-profile urban environment. The scale of the network and requirement for coordinated multi-agency response created a need for structured incident escalation, crisis coordination, and continuity planning.
What we delivered
Delivered a structured major incident management and resilience support programme for senior Ministry of Interior personnel responsible for metro-related oversight and coordination activities.
This included:
- Incident escalation and command-coordination workshops
- Scenario-based operational exercises
- Crisis management training
- Business continuity workshops
- Multi-agency coordination discussions
- Resilience-focused advisory support aligned to the Kingdom’s operational context
The programme focused on practical decision-making, coordination, and operational readiness rather than theoretical classroom delivery.
Outcome / impact
The engagement strengthened awareness of incident escalation, crisis coordination, and continuity management within a critical public transport environment. It supported improved preparedness, clearer coordination structures, and a more resilience-focused approach to managing complex operational incidents.
